Various initiatives (EURO-CORDEX, ReKlies-DE and PRINCIPLES) have produced climate projection data for Europe and Germany based on different scenarios for future greenhouse gas concentrations (abbreviated to rcp or ssp) with a spatial resolution of up to 12.5 km grid spacing. Provided that the climate projection data meet certain basic requirements, they are included in the DWD reference ensemble. This includes the availability of important ground-level climate-relevant variables, such as air temperature (2 m), precipitation and wind speed (10 m). However, climate projections are excluded if the respective model developers advise against the use of the data sets for specific reasons or if inconsistencies in the data have become apparent. The German Weather Service's 2018 reference ensembles contain the following data sets with a resolution of 0.11°: https://www.dwd.de/DE/leistungen/klimaprojektionen/referenz-ensemble_tabelle.html The climate projections of the DWD reference ensemble were regionalised to a 5 km x 5 km grid and multivariate bias-adjusted at the DWD using a method developed in the BMV Research Network. Daily data from 1971 to 2100 are available.
